StarShip connects to the Worldwide Express transportation management platform and supports multi-carrier rating, tendering, tracking and pickup requests for LTL shipments within the United States (excluding AK and HI). This requires a Worldwide Express service plan.
Worldwide Express is a primary UPS Authorized Reseller. Users who have a UPS account through Worldwide Express should contact the V-Technologies Sales department (800.462.4016 Option 1) to add the UPS account to your registration. Once registered, you can then enable and set up your Worldwide Express rate discounts in UPS Setup.
In the setup steps below (Step 3), you are required to enter your Worldwide Express account information. To obtain your license number, email integration@wwex.com to request your credentials.
You must set up at least one Worldwide Express account to be used as the default shipping account. The first account you add to StarShip is designated as the default account. If you add other accounts, you can designate a different default account by enabling the "Default" check box for that account. Please note that you can only rate and process shipments using the primary login for your Worldwide Express account.
Once you've added your account, you can configure carrier settings specific to this account. If you set up multiple accounts, you can maintain different settings for each account. To change settings for accounts, click on the account and then make your changes by selecting from the drop-down lists.
Default Prepaid Billing Type
This is the default Billing Type for shipments that are paid for by the shipper. You can select from Sender, Recipient, or any other 3PL that you set up in Maintain > 3PL. Third Party billing is not supported by Worldwide Express.
These settings affect the options available under Billing on the Shipment tab.
Tendering Type
The choices are Call, Daily Pickup, or Electronic. StarShip only sends a pickup request to Worldwide Express when "Electronic" is selected. For the other options, you must contact the carrier directly.
Disabled
Check to disable this carrier. Once disabled, you will
not be able to rate or ship using this carrier when shipping with Worldwide
Express. You will not see rates for this carrier when you rate a shipment,
nor will this carrier appear on the Shipment tab when Bill Freight Type
is set to Sender. The carrier will still be available when Bill Freight
Type is set to Recipient.
These settings apply to all Worldwide Express accounts in StarShip.
The Main tab consists of two settings:
This tab lists carriers supported by Worldwide Express, their SCAC code, and carrier type. You cannot add or delete carriers; however, you may disable a carrier on the Accounts tab.
Worldwide Express supports 10 Shipment Level Reference Fields. Reference fields allow you to print additional information on the BOL using a reference field, such as the PO#, or any other information that may not normally appear in a shipment’s details. Reference fields can be mapped to StarShip shipment fields in order to allow you to include shipment information on the BOL. These fields are uploaded to the carrier when the shipment is processed and should show on the carrier invoice.
This tab displays the supported billing types and shipment options available for Worldwide Express.
