There are four ways you can get items/commodities into StarShip :
Line items from the source interface
International shipments can be driven by line item detail imported from the source document (orders, shipments, etc.), if supported by your source interface. Line items will populate the shipment so you won't have to select them (i.e. in the Process an International Shipment procedure, you can skip to Step 2). Items that are imported from a source document, and any of the items' data (such as international) that you set up in StarShip, are saved to the StarShip database when you Ship/Process the shipment. Item detail is saved for the next time you ship the same item(s).
Add items/commodities in Maintain Inventory
These items are saved to the StarShip database.
Import items/commodities
Use the Data Import function in Maintain Inventory to import items from a file.
Convert StarShip v9 commodities
Customers migrating from StarShip v9 can also convert the commodity list using the Data Conversion process.
