Account Setup

 

The StarShip interface for Pitney Bowes supports small parcel domestic, international, and APO/FPO/DPO shipments. Pitney Bowes provides a service to manage postage, and print complete postage-paid shipping labels for domestic and international mail. V-Technologies leverages the latest web service technology to make Pitney Bowes functionality available through the familiar StarShip user interface.  

 

 

Prior to setting up your Pitney Bowes account in StarShip, you will need to set up your Pitney Bowes account if you have not done so already. See the Merchant Setup page for more information.

 

 

Set Up a Pitney Bowes Account

 

  1. In the StarShip Client, select Setup > Carrier Interface > Pitney Bowes.





  2. Click on the Accounts tab and select Add...





  3. If you already have a Pitney Bowes account, enter your User Name and Password in the fields provided. If you do not yet have an account, click the "here" link to sign up for one. For users who are signing up for a new account, you will need to create and activate your account. Once your account information is set, enter your User Name and Password in the dialog. Click Next.





  4. In the Account Name field, enter a unique name for this account. The Account Number is automatically populated for you.

    You may select an Address ID to associate with this account; this is optional. If you do choose to link this account with an Address ID, you will then be able to select the Pitney Bowes Account ID on the Shipping window > Sender tab while processing a shipment.

    Or, select Custom Address and enter the company address information in the fields provided. You must also enter a phone number and email address.

    Click Next.





  5. On the next screen, you can click Request Balance to load your current Postage Balance. This dialog emulates the Postage Balance settings in your Pitney Bowes merchant account. The Low Balance Threshold indicates the balance, when reached, which will trigger your account to be refilled with the Refill Amount.






  6. Check the "Refill Enabled" check box if you want your account to be automatically credited with the Refill Amount when you hit the Low Balance Threshold. Click Next.






  7. Next, configure USPS settings.

    Print SCAN form: The SCAN form consolidates an entire day’s shipments into a single form with a barcode that is scanned by the USPS driver when the packages are picked up. You can also select to group shipments on the SCAN form by Sender Zip Code or Cost Center. The SCAN Form must also be set up to print in Setup > Printing > Manage Documents > Pitney Bowes.

    Send pickup request to USPS (will be scheduled for the next day)
             
    * Send pickup on Fridays for Saturday pickup? : Check to have the pickup request sent on Friday for a Saturday pickup.
             
    * Pickup Location : Select the pickup location from the drop-down list. If you select Other, you can type your instructions in the Pickup Instructions text box.

    Click Finish.





  8. The account is added to the Accounts tab. Click OK to exit.
