This document is intended to aid in the migration process from v9 to the current version of StarShip, and to get you set up and ready to process shipments.

This version of StarShip gives shippers :

• Item level integration for automating International and LTL shipments

• Seat vs. site licensing

• New optional carrier modules: OnTrac, UPS Freight, YRC, Freightquote

• Address Validation to reduce unexpected accessorial charges; StarShip verifies the accuracy of ship-to addresses and residential status.

• The StarShip Dashboard, which is a web-based tool for users to access and analyze shipment information

Customers Migrating from StarShip v9.x

We have provided a Migration Checklist that you should review to make sure you have everything in place before starting this process.

Pre-installation Steps

We recommend following each of these steps in order to ensure a smooth migration process.

1. Review the Installation Guide : Pay special attention to the new system requirements and installation scenarios.
2. Attend a StarShip webinar : We encourage you to take advantage of this free resource to quickly become familiarized with StarShip's new look and feel, features, and functionality.
3. Review the Shipment Processing Guide to get the basics of shipment processing, as well as functional enhancements and differences from v9.

Installation Steps

1. Install the StarShip Server.
2. Install the StarShip Client.
3. Run the data conversion utility to migrate data from StarShip v9 to the new StarShip database.
4. Setup & configuration.
