UPS Hundredweight

UPS Hundredweight Service® is a contractual service designed for shipments that may be classified as Less-Than-Pallet Load (LPL). Each package has its own shipping label and unique tracking number. UPS Hundredweight Service is available with UPS Next Day Air, UPS Next Day Air Saver®, UPS 2nd Day Air A.M., UPS 2nd Day Air, UPS 3 Day Select and UPS Ground, and with Prepaid, Recipient, Consignee, and Third Party billing options.

This is a contract service and must be enabled by UPS before you can process Hundredweight shipments. The minimum total weight requirements for a UPS Hundredweight shipment are:

Note: If the dimensional weight of a package exceeds the actual weight, the dimensional weight of the package will be used to calculate the shipment’s billable weight.

Hundredweight Shipments

After the Hundredweight service is enabled for you by UPS, and you have set up your UPS account to use negotiated rates, you do not need to do anything else to process Hundredweight shipments. Enter the shipment as you normally would and rate the shipment. If the shipment weight calculation qualifies the shipment for the Hundredweight service, StarShip calculates the rates based on the standard published rates and your Hundredweight discounted rates. StarShip will only designate the shipment as Hundredweight if the Hundredweight discounted rates are less than the standard published rates. The Hundredweight option under Shipment Options will automatically be checked if the shipment qualifies for Hundredweight.

You can check if Hundredweight is enabled for your account by viewing Contract Services on the Accounts tab in Setup > Carrier Interface > UPS.
