FedEx Multiweight

The FedEx Ground Multiweight contract service provides discounts on large shipments to the same customer. FedEx automatically offers Multiweight pricing on FedEx Express® U.S. and international services. With U.S. Multiweight pricing, multiple-piece shipments traveling from one origin to one destination, and totaling 100 lbs. or more (200 lbs. or more for FedEx Express Saver® shipments), are rated on a price-per-package basis and on a price-per-total-shipment-weight basis. You are charged the lower of the two rates. A 15-lb. average minimum package weight for the shipment applies.

With international Multiweight pricing, multiple-piece shipments traveling from one origin to one destination are rated on a price-per-total-shipment-weight basis. Per-pound rates apply if the total shipment weight is 100 lbs. or more.

Single-piece shipments weighing more than 100 lbs. may also be subject to Multiweight pricing.

For additional information, see Multiple-Piece Shipments.

Process Multiweight Shipments

You do not need to do anything to process Multiweight shipments. Simply enter the shipment as you normally would and rate the shipment. Select a service that supports Multiweight pricing. If the shipment weight calculation qualifies the shipment for the Multiweight service, StarShip calculates the rates based on the standard published rates and your Multiweight discounted rates. The Multiweight option under Shipment Options will automatically be checked if the shipment qualifies for Multiweight.
