Write-Back

 

The Write-Back feature allows StarShip to write shipment information back to the Volusion Order. Write-back status is viewable on the eCommerce tab on the StarShip Ship screen.

 

 

Settings

  1. Select Setup > Source Interface > eCommerce.
  2. Click Customize Interface, and select Volusion Order under My Interface (or your custom interface name).
  3. Click the Write-Back Setup button and click on the Volusion Order Header node.

    The "Mark Order Shipped" setting is set to True by default. This means that when the order is processed in StarShip, the order status in Volusion will be updated to "Shipped".







  4. The other setting, "Send Shipped Email", can be set to "True" if you want the "Order Shipped" email to be sent to the customer via Volusion. By default, this write-back field is not set to anything. You must make a selection if you want the email to be sent/not sent.



 

 

 

 

Write-Back Results

 

Order Status

When the Order is completely shipped, the Order Status on the Order is updated to "Shipped" with the date and time.

 

 

 

 

Shipped Email

If the setting for sending the Shipped Email is set to True, the "Order Shipped" email is sent to the customer when the shipment is processed.

 

 

Tracking

The Ship Date, Tracking # and Service are written back to the Tracking section on the Order.
